Mark Hudson makes his 450th career appearance as one of three changes to Town’s starting XI for today’s Sky Bet Championship game against Newcastle United; 3pm kick-off at St. James’ Park.

‘Huddy’ returns to captain the side at the expense of Slovenian Under-21 international Jon Gorenc Stanković, who is among the substitutes this afternoon.

Head Coach David Wagner has made another two changes to the starting XI that faced Shrewsbury Town in the EFL Cup in midweek, with reigning Player of the Year and last season’s top scorer Nahki Wells making his first appearance of the 2016/17 campaign.

Last season’s top scorer has recovered from his pre-season knee problem to play alongside the in-form Elias Kachunga on Tyneside today, replacing Jack Payne in the XI.

The final switch comes on the flank, where Joe Lolley replaces Sean Scannell on the right.

With Hudson back in the 18 today, Croatian midfielder Ivan Paurević drops off the bench.
