Huddersfield Town defender Jon Gorenc Stanković has been called up to the latest Slovenia Under-21 squad for their upcoming Euro 2017 qualifier.

Primož Gliha’s squad will travel to Waterford, Ireland for their qualification match against the Republic of Ireland in their Under-21 qualifier.

Slovenia’s youngsters currently sit second in Group Two winning five games out of seven so far; just four points behind leaders Italy.

Stanković and his teammates will play the game on Friday 2 September; 7.30pm kick-off.

With the Sky Bet Championship taking an international break at this time, Jon will have time to re-join the Terriers ahead of the game at Leeds United on 10 September.

Jon is the third Town player to receive international summons for this period, following on from Aaron Mooy’s call-up to the Australia squad and Danny Ward’s inclusion in the Wales squad.
