TOWN’S WILLIAMS PLAYS IN ENGLAND U17 WIN

29 September 2015

Defender starts in Euro qualifying victory

- Huddersfield Town defender plays for England Under-17s
- Jordan Williams starts in win over San Marino
- Defender could feature against Armenia on Thursday

Huddersfield Town defender Jordan Williams earned his fourth England Under-17 cap as the Three Lions got their UEFA European Championship qualifying campaign under way with a win over San Marino today.

Head Coach Steve Cooper's side demolished the international minnows 8-0 in the fixture, with all the goals coming in the first 49 minutes of the game in Portugal.

England now faces Armenia on Thursday before concluding the group with a clash against host nation Portugal on Sunday 4 October.

The top two in each group will progress to the Elite Round qualifiers in March, where the final spots for next summer’s showpiece in Azerbaijan will be determined.

Centre back Jordan, who hails from Meltham and joined the Academy at nine years old, earned his first three England Under-17 caps in August as the Three Lions finished runners-up at The FA International Tournament.

Jordan is an Under-16 player within the Club’s Academy, but has started six games for the Under-18s so far this season.

Town's Sky Bet Championship game at home to MK Dons on 20 October is just £10 adults at the turnstiles!
