Powell hands debuts to trio

- Powell hands debuts to Steer, Ward & Paterson
- Emyr Huws named on the bench
- Dean Whitehead captains side on 500th league appearance

Chris Powell has handed Town debuts to three players ahead of today’s 3pm Sky Bet Championship kick-off at Cardiff City.

New loan recruits Jed Steer, Elliott Ward and Jamie Paterson replace the injured Joe Murphy (calf), Mark Hudson (ankle) and the departed Jacob Butterfield in the starting line-up.

Elsewhere Jason Davidson is on the bench after a long trip back from international duty with Australia; Martin Cranie replaces him.

The other change from Town’s last competitive game sees Harry Bunn replace Ishmael Miller in the line-up.

In Hudson’s absence, Dean Whitehead skippers the Terriers on what is his 500th league appearance.

Another new recruit, Emyr Huws, is among the substitutes this afternoon.
