Young Striker Joins Doonhamers on Loan
- Liam Coogans joins Queen of the South
- Huddersfield Town striker loaned until January
- First team experience for Development Squad Striker
Huddersfield Town's Development Squad striker Liam Coogans has joined Scottish Championship side, Queen of the South on loan until the 4th January 2016.
The 18 year-old striker joined the Huddersfield Town Academy as a 16 year-old for an nominal undisclosed fee from Airdrieonians in August 2014 following a successful trial. While at Airdrieonians he made 33 first team appearances in the Scottish Championship.
Managed by James Fowler, Queen of the South play in the Scottish Championship finishing 4th in the league last season, qualifying for the play-offs but missing out on promotion.
Liam is the latest of our u21 group to be given an opportunity of first team football. With the loan being to Scotland it must last until January and therefore gives an extended period for Liam to settle in and make his mark.
It will be a good opportunity for Liam and it will enable us to see his progress and how he adapts to competitive league action after his time with us, we will watch him closely and see how he gets on.
