JASON EARNS 21st AUSTRALIA CAP

8 October 2015

Left back plays in Socceroos defeat

- Jason Davidson earns 21st Australia cap
- Socceroos defeated by Jordan in Amman
- Defender will now return to Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town defender Jason Davidson earned his 21st Australia cap in a World Cup qualifier against Jordan in Amman this afternoon.

Jason started at left back and played the full 90 minutes as Coach Ange Postecoglou’s team lost its 100% World Cup qualifying record due to a 2-0 defeat by the hosts.

As a result, The Socceroos slipped to second in Group B, with Jordan surpassing them into the top spot.

The winners of the group will advance to the next stage of qualifying, with the ultimate aim to reach the final 2018 World Cup tournament in Russia.

Jason, who joined Town in the summer following his departure from West Bromwich Albion, has started 10 games for the Club at the start of the campaign.

The Terriers will not be in action during the latest spate of internationals, so Jason will return to England well in time for the Sky Bet Championship game at Ipswich Town on Saturday 17 October.

Watch Jason and the Terriers in home action against MK Dons on 20 October - it's just £10 at the gate in most areas for adults!
