- David Wagner selects first HTAFC XI
- Four changes to the side that faced Leeds Utd
- Scannell, Smith, Huws & Carayol come in
New Head Coach David Wagner’s first team selection for today’s Sky Bet Championship game at Sheffield Wednesday features four changes to the XI that started the previous game.
The first inclusion is Sean Scannell, who has recovered from the hamstring injury that has sidelined him for the last three games.
Elsewhere, Tommy Smith makes a return to the line-up to make his first start in 11 games; his last came in the away defeat at Cardiff City in early September.
Wagner has also reintroduced Wales international Emyr Huws and Middlesbrough loanee Mustapha Carayol to the starting line-up.
Out of the side go Murray Wallace, Joe Lolley, the injured Philip Billing and Jason Davidson; the latter two are missing from the match day 18 entirely.
Midfielder Jonathan Hogg makes a welcome return to the bench today following his lay-off with a thigh issue, whilst new loan recruit Ben Chilwell is also among the substitutes. Lloyd Allinson has replaced the departed Jed Steer, whilst James Vaughan drops out of the squad too.
Harry Bunn, who is a one-time loanee at Wednesday’s big intercity rival Sheffield United, is celebrating his 23rd birthday today. He leads Town’s assist chart with four so far this term.
