LOAN: JED STEER RETURNS TO HTAFC

26 November 2015

23-year old a Terrier until Boxing Day

- Jed Steer returns to Huddersfield Town
- Aston Villa goalkeeper at HTAFC until Boxing Day
- Injury to fellow stopper Joe Murphy

Huddersfield Town has today brought Jed Steer back to the Club on Emergency Loan until 26 December 2015 inclusive.

The 23 year-old Aston Villa goalkeeper returns to the Terriers with first choice stopper Joe Murphy ruled out for a month with an ankle injury sustained in last weekend’s Sky Bet Championship game at Sheffield Wednesday.

This will be a third month on loan at the John Smith’s Stadium for Jed, who initially joined for one month on 11 September as a result of a calf injury to Murphy.

Jed’s loan was subsequently extended for a second month as he started 10 Sky Bet Championship games, including the Club’s back-to-back wins in 2015/16 at Charlton Athletic and against Bolton Wanderers.

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner commented:

“We all feel sorry for Joe Murphy, who has been very unlucky to pick up this injury, but it is great that we can get Jed back at the Club.

“Jed came to Spain with the squad at the end of his last loan and learned how I want the team and my goalkeepers to play in the system, so it will be easy for him to come into the side.

“I understand he did very well during his first two months here too, so I’m sure the fans will be happy to see him back.”

This will be Jed’s final month at Huddersfield Town in 2015, as the maximum number of days that a player can go on Emergency Loan to a club in a single season is 93 days.
