JED STEER RETURNS TO ASTON VILLA

17 November 2015

Goalkeeper's time at 'The Yorkshire Club' ends

- Jed Steer's loan at Huddersfield Town ends
- Goalkeeper returns to Aston Villa
- Comment from Head Coach David Wagner

Goalkeeper Jed Steer has returned to Aston Villa at the conclusion of his Emergency Loan at Huddersfield Town.

The 23 year-old initially joined the Terriers on 11 September after Joe Murphy sustained an injury in training and went onto make 10 starts for the Club, including the First Team’s three competitive wins so far in 2015/16 and keeping two clean sheets.

The second month of Steer’s loan spell at the Club ended on 11 November, but the custodian still went on new Head Coach David Wagner’s Spanish training camp last week.

However, the goalkeeper will now return to his parent club, as Head Coach David Wagner explained to htafc.com:

“Jed came with us to Spain to train for a week and is clearly a good goalkeeper, but now that our goalkeeper Joe Murphy is fit, he will be the first choice.

“Jed’s return to Aston Villa also gives us the potential to use another loan if I decide we need to before the loan deadline a week on Thursday.”

Everyone at Huddersfield Town would like to thank Jed for his contribution during his time at the Club and wishes him all the best in the future.
