Huddersfield Town defender Jason Davidson earned his 22nd Australia cap as a substitute in a World Cup qualifying win in Bangladesh this afternoon.

Jason came on as a 58th minute replacement for Bradford City's James Meredith in the 4-0 victory, which featured a hat-trick for former Everton player Tim Cahill.

The winners of Australia's Group B will advance to the next stage of qualifying, with the ultimate aim to reach the final 2018 World Cup tournament in Russia.

Jason, who joined Town in the summer following his departure from West Bromwich Albion, has started 16 games for the Club at the start of the campaign.

Jason will now return to England in time for the Sky Bet Championship game at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday 21 November.
