DANNY KANE IN IRELAND U18 SQUAD

25 May 2015

Town defender gets international call-up

Huddersfield Town’s young defender Danny Kane has been called up to the Republic of Ireland’s Under-18 squad for two upcoming international friendlies against Luxembourg.

Head Coach Paul Doolin’s side will convene in Dublin on 30 May and train for two days before heading off to Luxembourg to play the hosts on 2 June and 4 June.

Danny, now 18 years-old, has previously captained his country up to under-17 level but this is a first call-up for the country’s under-18s. Back in March 2015, he was named the Republic’s Under-17 Player of the Year; click HERE for info.

The central defender made 14 appearances for Town’s Professional Development League 2 North winning Under-18 side during 2014/15, as well as four appearances for Frankie Bunn’s Under-21s.

Danny, who joined the Terriers from Irish side Cherry Orchard in February 2013, has already signed a professional contract with the Club and will become a full time member of the Development Squad during the 2015/16 campaign.
