Development Squad win comfortably

Town’s Development Squad recorded a win at PPG Canalside this lunchtime against table toppers Swansea City in the Professional Development League 2.

Frankie Bunn’s side started the game on the front foot and took the lead after 16 minutes when Jack Boyle scored on his first start for the Development Squad after being assisted by Sondre Tronstad.

The young Terriers were unable to keep hold of their lead for long, and the Welsh visitors equalised on the half-hour mark thanks to Alex Samuel and the teams went in level at the break.

Town were to regain the lead shortly after the start of the second-half in spectacular fashion, after Jack Senior curled in a delightful free-kick from 20 yards out.

They were soon to have a two-goal advantage after Boyle netted his second of the afternoon. The First Year Scholar scored from 25 yards, as it turned to be a game to remember for the Leeds born forward.

The visitors were unable to get back in to the game and Town’s defence held firm to claim a great win over the young Swans.

Lloyd Allinson, Jacob Hanson, Jack Senior, Duane Holmes (Ben Atkinson, 90), Joe Wilkinson, William Boyle (c), Sondre Tronstad (Jamie Spencer, 66), Philip Billing (Danny Kane, 86), Jack Boyle, Rekeil Pyke, Flo Bojaj
