Free fitness programme held by Community Trust
Are you over 30, male and looking to ‘Get Fit’ this Summer?
Then why not come and do just that with Huddersfield Town?
The Huddersfield Town Community Trust is proud to announce that its next 'Get Fit with the Terriers' course starts on Tuesday 30 June 2015 between 6-8pm at The Zone.
The FREE programme, supported by Kirklees Public health is in its fourth year of delivering successful courses to out-of-condition males aged 30 and over.
The programme, which lasts for 12 weeks, helps individuals to kick start a healthier lifestyle as it did for 60 year old James Brewster, a Senior Manager at Lloyds Banking Group who became one of the programmes biggest success stories:
“I started the programme at 110kg, and following the twelve week period I weighed 95kg with the most noticeable change being my trouser size, as I dropped from a 42 inch waist to a 38.
“It helps being in an environment with like-minded people and sharing experiences that aren’t too dissimilar to your own.
“I would recommend the course to anyone feeling motivated to make the change, the whole course is centred on making minor changes to your eating habits and a reasonable amount of exercise. The staff put in the effort to make it fun as long as you are motivated to do it.”
The programme is completely FREE of charge for any applicants but there are a limited amount of places so be sure to act quick if you want to be involved in this fantastic opportunity. The programme includes activity sessions such as healthy eating and nutritional advice along with motivational talks and team support. The course also aims to tackle unhealthy habits along with avoiding the penalties of high sugar, high fats and inactivity.
Qualified course leader Jonny Morgan commented:
“The power of the Huddersfield Town brand is clearly proving to capture the attention and motivate our male target audience.
“The model we have is working extremely well with participants enjoying the team aspect of the programme and making those key changes to lead a healthier lifestyle. It is a joy to work alongside our participants and see first-hand how small changes can affect individuals lives.”
The next programme starts Tuesday 30 June, 6-8pm at The Zone, St. Andrews Road, HD1 6PT.
