Terriers in pre-season action at Spotland on Saturday

- Huddersfield Town's First Team back in action this weekend
- Game at League 1 Rochdale on Saturday at 3pm
- Possible return to action for Jonathan Hogg

Huddersfield Town’s First Team is back in action on Saturday when Chris Powell takes his side to face Sky Bet League 1 Rochdale; 3pm kick-off at Spotland.

After Tuesday night’s defeat at Grimsby Town, Powell stated the importance of ‘nailing down’ his side ahead of the start of the new Sky Bet Championship campaign, with that process starting this weekend.

On paper, Rochdale will pose the Terriers with their toughest test to date. Managed by Keith Hill, the Dale finished just two places and six points outside the League 1 Play-Off berths last season.

Hill’s men also recorded an impressive 2-1 home victory over Town’s Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday night, with forward Ian Henderson grabbing a brace.

Rochdale’s squad has been boosted by a few summer arrivals including defender Jim McNulty, former Plymouth Argyle striker Lewis Alessandra and a third name very familiar to Town fans – former Terrier Donal McDermott.

Donal is one of a handful of players with Huddersfield connections in the Rochdale squad alongside Huddersfield-born Reuben Noble-Lazarus and goalkeeper Josh Lillis, son of Town’s Academy Manager Mark.

As for the Terriers, Chris Powell confirmed after Tuesday night’s game that midfielder Jonathan Hogg could return from injury to feature in the match but James Vaughan, Ishmael Miller and Philip Billing are still on the road to recovery, whilst left back Jason Davidson doesn’t return from Australia until after the game.

Admission prices

Town fans will be located in the Willbutts Lane Stand at Spotland, with admission at the turnstiles in cash priced at:

£10 adults and seniors
£5 for juniors aged 16 and under
