Come and watch the game at PPG Canalside!

Town’s Under-18s will take on Crewe Alexandra at PPG Canalside on Friday afternoon as they look to extend their lead at the top of the Under-18 Professional Development League 2 North table.

The game kicks off at 2pm and is free to attend, with supporters asked to make a donation to the ‘All Together Town’ initiative, which helps to improve the atmosphere at home matches.

Tony Carss’ side will go into the game in good spirits after they drew 1-1 away at Coventry in a top of the table clash last weekend; a goal from top scorer Rekeil Pyke midway through the second half earned Town a point.

That draw extends Town’s Under 18’s unbeaten run in the league to five games. At home, Carss’ youngsters have won their last three in all competitions, which includes an impressive 4-1 league win over Sheffield United.

Crewe Alexandra travel to PPG Canalside sitting bottom of the Professional Development League 2 North table. So far the Railwaymen have struggled away from home this season as they have only picked up five points away from home in eight games.

When the two sides last met at Crewe in November, Carss’ men recorded a 4-2 victory. Crewe opened the scoring but Town instantly equalised through first-year scholar Jack Boyle. Following the equaliser Town were in the ascendancy; a second from Boyle and two goals in a minute from Regan Booty put the youngsters 4-1 ahead. Crewe weren’t able to mount a comeback but did manage a consolation goal in the last ten minutes, to finish the game 4-2.

If you’re coming to the game, why not come down to PPG Canalside early? Lunch will be served between 12 and 2pm, with the Chef’s special being Chilli Nachos for £4.25.

As always, Town’s Twitter account - @htafcdotcom – will have the team news and updates of the goals as they go in on Friday afternoon!
