TOP OF THE TABLE CLASH FOR U18s

23 January 2015

Tony Carss’ side in action at Coventry on Saturday

Town’s Under-18 side travels to Coventry City for a top of the table clash in the Professional Development League 2 North on Saturday morning.

The game kicks off at 11.30am and will be played at the Alan Higgs Centre, Allard Way, Pinley, Coventry, CV3 1JP. The game is open to the public and free to attend.

Tony Carss’ side is currently five points ahead of Coventry, but the Sky Blues have two games in hand as they look to overtake Town at the top of the table.

Town’s youngsters will be looking to replicate their recent form and build on their 4-1 win over Sheffield United last weekend.

Away from home Town have only lost one game this season, which was at the end of September. They have since gone five games unbeaten, winning their last four.

When the sides last met at PPG Canalside the game ended 2-2, as Town were pegged back from a two goal lead. A first-half strike from midfielder Adam Porritt put Town in front and striker Ronan Coughlan doubled their lead. However, a late Sky Blues double drew them level.

Coventry’s Under-18s will be hoping to recover from their 8-2 away defeat to Manchester City in the FA Youth Cup. At home Coventry have only lost one game in the league; that defeat came against Sheffield United in early November.

As always, Town’s Twitter account - @htafcdotcom – will have the team news and updates of the goals as they go in on Saturday morning!
