TOWN U21s IN PL CUP TOMORROW

Development Squad in U21 PL Cup Quarter Final

Huddersfield Town’s Development Squad are in action in the Quarter Final of the U21 Premier League Cup tomorrow against holders Reading.

Frankie Bunn’s side will welcome the young Royals to the John Smith’s Stadium for a 1pm kick-off; where they look to progress to the Semi-Final of the U21 PL Cup.

The young Terriers have already beaten Barnsley, Everton and Charlton Athletic in previous rounds of the competition, and Senior Professional Development Coach Bunn will be hoping for another victory on home soil.

Academy graduate Flo Bojaj was on hand to send Barnsley packing in the Qualify Round 2 stage of the competition. Likewise, William Boyle and Duane Holmes delivered the decisive blows to send Everton crashing out of the Cup.

Town then met Charlton Athletic in the Round of 16, though this clash wasn’t as straight forward for Bunn’s inform youngsters.

Having managed to see off their previous opponents in normal time prior to this fixture, Town’s U21s were pushed to the limit and taken to penalties; as the score remained goalless after 120 minutes of play.

Nevertheless, thanks to spot-kicks from Rekeil Pyke, Philip Billing and Joe Wright, a place in the next round was fortified.

Yet, with a ‘Category One’ Academy status, Frankie Bunn’s U21s will have to be at their best if they are to progress to the next stage of the competition.

Admissions for tomorrow’s fixture are as follows:

- £4 Adults.

- £2 for Concessions.
