Pyke scores in win at PPG Canalside
Town’s Under-18s recorded a victory over Yorkshire rivals Barnsley at PPG Canalside on Saturday morning and remain top of the Professional Development League 2 North.
Top scorer Rekeil Pyke was the man who scored the winning goal just three minutes before the interval, smashing home after winger Jack Boyle’s initial shot was parried by the goalkeeper.
Town should have extended the lead in the second-half, but midfielder Regan Booty’s penalty was saved.
