Local youngsters spend the day with Town winger Sean

Local youngsters got to spend the day with Town’s Sean Scannell at PPG Canalside after a recent competition to find his ‘super seven’.

Katie-Mae Jefferson, Ryan Bailey, Kaitlyn Swift, Khayen Asgill, Harrison Morgan and Max Williams were all picked at random from over 200 ‘Terrier 7s’ registered this season to meet ‘Scanz’ at the training ground during February half-term.

The seventh competition winner, Thomas Bush, was unavailable on the day but will come to meet ‘Scanz’ at a later date.

Each child received a special Huddersfield Town goody bag and drinks when they arrived at PPG Canalside before holding a question and answer session with the popular winger, taking photos with their families and getting autographs!

Just before ‘Scanz’ went off to train, he got the rest of his teammates over to say hello too!

The kids and their families watched Sean and the First Team squad train ahead of the games against Cardiff City and Reading, during which time Manager Chris Powell came over to have a quick chat with the young supporters!

Huddersfield Town’s Club Ambassador Andy Booth also spent the day looking after the children and commented:

“Thanks to everyone who entered the competition to become one of Sean’s ‘super 7’!

“The kids had a great day with Sean and the squad; he’s an excellent ambassador for Huddersfield Town and was the perfect choice for this competition given he wears the number seven shirt. We had a lot of smiling faces at the end of the day and I’m sure this will be a day that lives long in the memory of the kids.

“The Terrier 7s initiative is superb. Every kid who registers receives their shirt from a player on a Huddersfield Town match day and this competition was yet another great, exclusive initiative.”

For just £15, each child that registers as a ‘Terrier 7’ will receive a Huddersfield Town replica home shirt presented on a home match day by Terry the Terrier and a Town player along with one adult and one junior ticket to the match.
The scheme is available for children who are celebrating their seventh birthday between 1 September 2014 and 31 August 2015.
