- Murphy back in goal; Billing on the bench
Head Coach David Wagner has made six changes to his starting XI for today’s Sky Bet Championship game at QPR; 3pm kick-off at Loftus Road.
As expected, the first comes in goal. With Jed Steer’s Emergency Loan from Aston Villa ending on Boxing Day, Joe Murphy’s timely return from an ankle injury sees him start a first game in seven.
The second comes at left back, where Australian international Jason Davidson makes his first appearance under Wagner in place of loanee Ben Chilwell.
Martin Cranie – a one-time QPR loanee – is also back in the side, replacing Joel Lynch at centre back.
The other changes come in the forward areas where Jamie Paterson, Harry Bunn and Mustapha Carayol replace Kyle Dempsey, Joe Lolley and Sean Scannell. Scannell and Lolley are among the subs, but Dempsey drops out of the 18 today with Philip Billing returning to the bench.
