Young Terriers win PDL2 opener

- Under-18s win season opener vs QPR
- Francis, Boyle & Scott net in first-half
- Three goal lead within 32 minutes

After just three minutes, the young Terriers took the lead when first year striker Akeel Francis nicely slotted away the first chance of the season.

The forward had another ruled out for offside shortly afterwards after an initial effort cannoned off the crossbar, but 26 minutes in the advantage was doubled when Jack Boyle intercepted a bad back-pass from a defender and beat the goalie.

Just 32 minutes in, the score-line was 3-0 when Town’s other striker, Cedwyn Scott, scored his very first goal at Under-18 level.

Having been second best all half, Rangers reduced the arrears moments before the interval and made things interesting 20 minutes into the second-half, making it 3-2 from the penalty spot, but the hosts held on for a first win of the campaign.

Highlights from the game will appear on Town’s YouTube channel – www.youtube.com/officialhtafc - on Monday.
