Huddersfield Town defender Jason Davidson has been called up to the Australian national team for two upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

The 24 year-old, who already has 18 caps for the senior national side, has been named in Head Coach Ange Postecoglou’s 23 man squad for two qualifiers against Bangladesh and Tajikistan.

The first game against Bangladesh takes place in Perth on 3 September 2015, with the second game taking place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, just five days later.

Jason will join up with the national team following Town’s Sky Bet Championship game at home to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday 29 August and will return ahead of the Club’s following game at Cardiff City on 12 September.

Australia’s two games during this international break are both qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The Socceroos are in Group B of the Asian Football Confederation qualifying section, with the group also including Jordan and Kyrgyzstan.
