BEN HOLMES LOANED TO AFC FYLDE

28 August 2015

19 year-old leaves for the Coasters

- Ben Holmes joins AFC Fylde
- Huddersfield Town midfielder loaned until 30 September
- Comments from HTAFC's Frankie Bunn

Huddersfield Town’s Development Squad midfielder Ben Holmes has today joined AFC Fylde on a Youth Loan until 30 September inclusive.

The 19 year-old central midfielder joined Town’s Academy from Heyside Juniors in July 2010, graduating into the professional ranks during the summer of 2014.

Playing in the Vanarama National League North, AFC Fylde – known as the Coasters – is managed by former Bury and Tranmere defender Dave Challinor and currently sit sixth with 10 points from the first five games of the season.

This will be Ben’s second loan spell away from Huddersfield Town, following on from a two month spell at Hyde FC during the 2014/15 season.

Town’s Senior Professional Development Coach Frankie Bunn told htafc.com:

“Ben missed a good period of pre-season through injury, so this opportunity will give him the chance to get back up to speed whilst gaining further experience at a good level.

“He learned a lot from his time at Hyde last season and now he’s moved to a club that expects to challenge at the higher end of that division.

“The Manager, Dave Challinor, contacted us and specifically asked about Ben, which bodes well. His team has seven games during Ben’s month at the Club, so we’ll watch him closely.”
