Development Squad at PPG Canalside from 1pm
Town’s Under-21 side is back in action when it hosts Crewe Alexandra at PPG Canalside on Tuesday afternoon.
The game, which will kick-off at 1pm at Town’s training ground, is free to watch, although attendees will be asked to give a donation for a team-sheet that will go towards the ‘All Together Town’ fund (click HERE for full info).
Town’s Under-21 team comes into the match in second position in the division, on the back of four straight wins and six victories in seven. Under-21 sides are permitted to use four overage players in each game – three outfielders and one goalkeeper – but the last four wins have come with none in the side.
The latest came on Friday at PPG Canalside, when Bunn’s youngsters beat top of the table Nottingham Forest 2-1 thanks to goals from Joe Wilkinson and Flo Bojaj.
Crewe's Development Squad comes into the game on the back of a four game winless streak, although it did draw 0-0 with table-topping Forest in its previous game.
Town's U21 players are in the driving seat for one of the two spots in the end of season Professional Development League 2 Play-Offs, when the top team from the northern section plays the southern runners-up and vice-versa. The two semi-final winners then play each other in the national final.
Town’s Under-21s reached the Play-Off semi-finals last season, only to lose to southern side QPR. Crewe's Development Squad went onto beat Rangers in the final.
Don't forget that the PPG Canalside kitchen will be open between noon and 2pm to get lunch - click HERE for info!
