THREE DAYS UNTIL P4P6!

28 April 2015

Ride sponsored by Orchard Energy

There’s only three days to go until the start of Huddersfield Town’s ‘Pedal for Pounds 6’ bike ride, sponsored by Orchard Energy!

This season’s ride, which will see close to 300 supporters get on their bikes to raise money for the Huddersfield Town Academy and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, will begin at Castle Hill on Friday morning, with cyclists registering from 8am and beginning to depart an hour later.

The overall route will travel through Huddersfield town centre up to Ainley Top, through Sowerby Bridge, Accrington, Blackburn, Preston and finally into Blackpool.

Friends and family are welcome to come and watch the departure, but should be aware that there is no parking at Castle Hill. Instead, spectators are advised to park at Hall Bower Cricket Club, which is half a mile away.

The first stop of day one is in Todmorden, where the cyclists will receive a drink of water thanks to club partner Ice Valley, an energy drink thanks to iPro and a piece of fruit thanks to Sainsbury’s Dewsbury.

The second stop is 49 miles into the first day at The Boatyard Inn, Bolton Road, Riley Green, Preston, PR5 0SP. Cyclists will receive a sandwich and flapjack thanks to club partner Total Foodservice.
The ride will end that day on the promenade across from Blackpool Tower.

On Day 2 the ride sets off from Bloomfield Road after the final whistle of Town’s Sky Bet Championship game at Blackpool’s Bloomfield Road.

The first stop will be after 21 miles at Balderstone in Blackburn and the second will be after 41 miles at The Kettledrum Inn in Cliviger.

The ride officially ends at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday evening.
