NEW HEAD OF ACADEMY RECRUITMENT

30 April 2015

Steve Barltrop joins Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town has appointed Steve Barltrop as its new Head of Academy Recruitment.

Steve has taken on the role, which was vacated by Bryan Glover in February 2015. His primary role is to identify talented young players to join the Huddersfield Town Academy, encompassing the Under-8 to Under-18 group inclusive. The training and development of the Club’s Academy scouting personnel will also be a key responsibility for Town’s new Head of Academy Recruitment.

Ahead of this appointment, Steve was a part-time area-leading scout for Town’s Academy in the Leeds area for six years.

Huddersfield Town’s Academy Manager Mark Lillis explained:

“We’re delighted to welcome Steve in his new role as Head of Academy Recruitment.

“Steve’s in-depth knowledge of junior football in the Club’s local and regional area made him the best candidate for the job.

“He’s done some sterling work for our Academy in his previous role and should be a real asset to the Club.

“I’m looking forward to working closely with Steve as he beds into the job and starts to put his imprint on our recruitment structure.”
