Tony Carss’ side hosts Crewe Alexandra from 11.30am
A win for Huddersfield Town’s Under-18 side on Saturday against Crewe Alexandra in the final game of the regular season will secure the Professional Development League 2 North title.
The young Terriers go into Saturday’s encounter one point behind leaders Nottingham Forest, who have already completed their regular league programme of games, with poorer goal difference.
As a result, only a win over visitors Crewe in Saturday’s 11.30pm kick-off at PPG Canalside will see Tony Carss’ team top the northern division for a second successive campaign.
The side comes into the game on the back of three straight wins and clean sheets; the latest of which was a 2-0 victory over Ipswich Town at PPG Canalside.
Regardless of Saturday’s outcome Town’s Under-18s have secured a place in the top two, meaning they will enter the end of season Play-Offs against the top two sides from the southern section – already confirmed as Brentford and Charlton Athletic.
The young Terriers are also the reigning Professional Development League 2 Play-Off champions having beaten Saturday’s visitors Crewe in last season’s final on penalties (click HERE for a report).
