Local schoolchildren now have less than one week to try and win the Standard Fireworks and Huddersfield Town poster competition and claim the prize of being the person to officially open Town’s inaugural Firework Display at PPG Canalside.
So far the Club and the internationally recognised firework brand has received numerous entries, but are keen for schools and their children to submit more.
Pupils aged between five and 11 from Town’s 53 official school partners have been challenged to create a poster a poster illustrating firework safety on Bonfire Night, but only have until Saturday 27 September to submit their entries.
The winning poster will also be reproduced and exhibited by both Standard Fireworks and the Club leading up to Bonfire Night, including being featured on the Big Screen at matches at the John Smith’s Stadium
The design of the poster must feature the local logos of Huddersfield Town and Standard Fireworks and depict the importance of the firework code.
Commenting, Huddersfield Town Events Coordinator Katie Barraclough said:
“We have had many varied and colourful entries so far but are very keen for any late entries to submit their posters by the closing date.”
Entries should be sent to Katie Barraclough at Huddersfield Town; either hand your poster in at the John Smith’s Stadium or mail it to the Events Department, Huddersfield Town, The John Smith’s Stadium, Huddersfield, HD1 6PX.
The winning entry will be announced on Friday 3 October.
The Club’s inaugural firework display, in partnership with Standard Fireworks, will take place at PPG Canalside on Sunday 26 October. Admission upon entry will be priced at £4 for adults and £2 for concessions (Under-18s and over-60s), which will include the big Fireworks display, other entertainment and music!
