CONSIDER HTAFC FUTSAL FOR YOUR HIGHER EDUCATION

22 September 2014

Consider Town Futsal for your higher education

Would you like to represent Huddersfield Town at Futsal via the Education Academy?

The Education Academy is based at the indoor venue The Zone, a stone’s throw from the John Smith’s Stadium, and is asking students to consider them as an option for furthering their careers from September 2014.

The Education offers an Education & Futsal Programme for 16 to 18 year olds for both male and female candidates. It allows students to Learn, Train, Play and Work whilst representing Huddersfield Town on and off the pitch against other Football League Clubs across the country.

Futsal is the world’s fastest growing indoor sport, which showcases close ball skills, increased touches, quick decision making, creativity and tactical nous. Considered by many as football in its purest form, the five-a-side game using hockey size goals and a size four ball with 30% less bounce is the only officially recognised form of indoor football accepted by UEFA and FIFA.

The courses include a wide range of subjects within sport that enhances the opportunities for students for when they complete their academic studies. Subjects include sports coaching, anatomy & physiology and sport psychology. The programme offers an array of exit routes, ranging from a university education (including Football League Trust's Community Football Coaching & Development Foundation Degree) to careers in the sports and leisure sector, both in the UK and overseas. A number of students have progressed to employment with Huddersfield Town whilst several have pursued Soccer Scholarships in the USA

In addition to studying, the course provides the time and use of the training facilities to receive regular coaching to develop technical, tactical and physical ability of their Futsal players allowing students to represent HTAFC in the FLT Futsal League and other cup competitions at the best of their ability.

Education Academy Manager, Rachael Lakey commented

“We understand the pressure placed on students at this time of year. Every student is an individual some will experience the euphoria of achieving the grades they deserved and others will not. We provide many unique options at the Education Academy. Even if you feel you have already chosen your next path this may change and we are here to say it is never too late.”

Offered at BTEC level 1, 2 & 3, it is not too late to apply for the September 2014 start. Contact the Education Academy as soon as possible to find out further information.
