BILLING MAKES DENMARK U19 BOW

Town youngster on as sub in win over Norway

Huddersfield Town midfielder Philip Billing earned his first cap for Denmark’s Under-19 side as a second-half substitute in a 2-1 win over hosts Norway this evening.

The 18 year-old, who joined Town’s Academy from Danish club Esbjerg in 2013, played around 15 minutes at the end of the victory – becoming the Club’s first Danish international at any age level in its 106 year history.

Philip could earn his second cap when Denmark’s Under-19s play Sweden on Saturday 6 September. That game will take place in the Norwegian coastal municipality of Lyngdal, as tonight’s game did.

Philip made his senior debut for Town as a second half substitute in the Sky Bet Championship game at home to Leicester City on 26 April 2014.
