Comprehensive win for the young Terriers

Town’s Under-18 side put in a good performance to comprehensively beat visitors Brentford in the latest Professional Development League 2 game of the season at PPG Canalside on Saturday morning.

Striker Liam Coogans opened the scoring after 10 minutes, finishing first time into the top corner after a through ball from midfielder Regan Booty split the away defence.

Irishman Ronan Coughlan netted the second 10 minutes into the second-half, tapping home after fellow forward Rekeil Pyke had a header saved and a shot blocked.

Pyke did get his goal just five minutes from the end, capitalising on a superb ball across the face of goal from overlapping left back Jack Senior.

Town’s team (4-4-2 diamond):
Tadhg Ryan; Jack Senior, Nathaniel Pells, Jacob Hanson, Brad Carroll; Fraser Horsfall, Jamie Spencer, Regan Booty, Ronan Coughlan; Rekeil Pyke, Liam Coogans

Unused subs:
