POWELL HOLDS Q&A AT LOCAL SCHOOL

17 October 2014

Town Manager drops into Linthwaite Ardron

Huddersfield Town’s school partner Linthwaite Ardron had an assembly with a difference yesterday when Manager Chris Powell called in for a special visit!

Chris, who was accompanied by Club Ambassador Andy Booth, took part in a question and answer session where he was quizzed on his playing days with England, as well as his day to day duties managing Huddersfield Town.

Putting his managerial skills to the test, Chris also talked tactics with the school’s Year 5 and Year 6 football and netball teams, before handing out tickets to the HTAFC vs Blackpool game tomorrow - which is a designated ‘schools focus’ game.

As part of the HTAFC School Partnership scheme, local schools receive discounted tickets to select ‘school focus’ games throughout the season, earning cash-back on each one, as well as player appearances and match day experiences.

Club Ambassador Andy Booth, who makes regular visits to partner schools, commented:

“It was fantastic to have Chris up at Linthwaite Ardron; his motivational speech went down very well and I’m sure it will have spurred the football team on in particular!

“Although Chris is no stranger to community appearances, this is the first time we’ve had a Manager out at a school since the Schools Partnership began four seasons ago, and I know how much it was appreciated by the children and the teachers.”
