LOCAL COACHES GET PROFESSIONAL INSIGHT

23 October 2014

Over 100 coaches from club partners learn from Academy

Over 100 coaches from local junior football teams descended on Town’s PPG Canalside training ground on Monday evening to get an exclusive insight into professional coaching at Academy level.

Academy Manager Mark Lillis, Professional Development Coaches Tony Carss and Leigh Bromby and other members from the Academy technical staff hosted a special evening for representatives of Town’s junior football club partners, giving them tips on how they coach the Club’s stars of tomorrow.

After Lillis and Carss held an opening presentation to the coaches in PPG Canalside’s Radcliffe Suite, the group moved to the state of the art 3G pitch to watch Carss and Bromby take Town’s Under-18 side in a specially arranged training session.

The Club’s official Twitter account, @htafcdotcom, received plenty of praise for the three hour evening after the event:

Huddersfield Town’s Supporter Partnerships Manager Robyn Deegan commented:

“It was fantastic to see so many representatives from our club partners take up this opportunity to get an insight into how our elite players are developed at this evening.

“We’ve had a lot of great feedback from the people who came, so we’ll certainly look to hold another evening like this in the future.”

If you’re involved with a junior football club, invitations to events like this is just one of the benefits you could enjoy. Click HERE for full information on Huddersfield Town’s Club Partnership scheme.
