Big cash prizes won at last night’s BWF draw
Huddersfield Town held its 11th annual ‘Blue & White Foundation’ event yesterday evening in the Radcliffe Suite at PPG Canalside Sports Complex, with one lucky fan walking away with a massive £20,000.
The lucky winner was Robert Denman, from Wyke, who walked away with the bumper £20,000 first prize! Robert wasn’t in attendance at the event, but came down to collect his cheque after the draw had been made.
Robert addressed the crowd, explaining that the money was compensation for his wife; the pair was due to emigrate to Perth, Australia, in 1970, but after Town gained promotion back to Division One he postponed the trip indefinitely!
Robert then started the crowd signing 'Those Were The Days'!
Another ten BWF members walked away with £500 each as a runners-up prize; full details are at the bottom of this article.
There were 150 people in attendance at the event, which was hosted by match day announcer, Paul Ramsden. The attendees were treated to a supper and entertainment from guitarist and singer, Graeme Cox.
An exclusive question and answer session with Academy Manager and Town legend, Mark Lillis was also part of the evening’s entertainment, with several First Team and Academy players taking part.
The players to attend the evening were Conor Coady, Tommy Smith, Harry Bunn, Jake Charles, William Boyle and Flo Bojaj.
The event was free to attend for BWF members who pay a weekly fee of £2, which is used to fund the successful Huddersfield Town Academy.
All proceeds from the event also go the Club’s Academy, which was another highly successful evening for the BWF.
