Norwood & Paterson in Northern Ireland squad for upcoming friendlies
Huddersfield Town's Oliver Norwood and Martin Paterson have been summoned to the Northern Ireland squad for a pair of international friendlies in South America.
Manager Michael O’Neill will lead his side against World Cup 2014 qualifiers Uruguay and Chile during late May and early June as the South American pair begin final preparations for the impending tournament.
On the other hand, the Irish are getting ready for September, when the Euro 2016 qualifiers get underway.
Oliver, Martin and their Northern Irish teammates will travel to Montevideo to take on Uruguay in the Estadio Centenario on Friday 30 May before heading to Chile to play the hosts in the Estadio Elias Figeuroa Brander, the home of Santiago Wanderers, on Wednesday 4 June.
Midfielder Norwood, 23, already has 15 caps for the senior Northern Ireland squad; Paterson has 22 caps, scoring three goals.
