PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY AT SHEFF UTD

19 May 2014

Latest pre-season fixture confirmed

Huddersfield Town’s fifth pre-season fixture ahead of the upcoming 2014/15 Sky Bet Championship season has been confirmed.

Mark Robins will lead his side in a friendly at Sky Bet League 1 side Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Tuesday 29 July; 7.45pm kick-off.

This fixture is the fifth to be confirmed ahead of the 2014/15 season, following on from the home game against Premier League Newcastle United (click HERE); the games at League 1 Scunthorpe United (click HERE) and Oldham Athletic (click HERE) and the friendly at Guiseley AFC (click HERE).

The Blades had a strong end to the 2013/14 campaign, climbing from relegation danger under new manager Nigel Clough to an eventual seventh placed finish, just one spot outside the Play-Offs.

Centre half Harry Maguire has won the Club’s ‘Player of the Year’ accolade for three consecutive seasons, whereas striker Chris Porter was their top scorer last season with 11 goals.

This friendly will be the first meeting of the two teams since the 2012 League 1 Play-Off Final at Wembley Stadium, when the Terriers eventually won the day on a dramatic sudden death penalty shootout after a 0-0 draw over 120 minutes.

The team’s last visit to Bramall Lane also holds happy memories for Town fans, with a Lee Novak brace and a headed goal from Oscar Gobern sealing a resounding 3-0 win in September 2011.

Prices for the game will be confirmed on htafc.com at a later date.

Further announcements regarding Huddersfield Town friendlies ahead of the 2014/15 Championship season will be made first on htafc.com.
