FRIENDLY AT SCUNTHORPE CONFIRMED

12 May 2014

Town travel to Glanford Park on 26 July

Huddersfield Town will travel to newly promoted League 1 side Scunthorpe United as part of the squad’s pre-season preparations.

The game, which is the second to be confirmed ahead of the 2014/15 season after the home game against Premier League Newcastle United (click HERE for full info), will take place at Glanford Park on Saturday 26 July, 3pm kick-off.

The Iron, who are managed by Russ Wilcox, finished second in League 2 in 2013/14 and will return to League 1 for the new season. After Wilcox took over the reigns from Brian Laws in November 2013, the team went on a record-breaking 24 match unbeaten run; a Football League landmark for a new manager at the start of a tenure.

Their squad currently contains former Huddersfield Town Player of the Year and Academy graduate David Mirfin.

Town’s last visit to Glanford Park came in October 2011, when current Town midfielder Oliver Norwood netted for the home side in a 2-2 League 1 draw.

Prices for the game will be confirmed on htafc.com at a later date.

Further announcements regarding Huddersfield Town friendlies ahead of the 2014/15 Championship season will be made first on htafc.com.
