Get fit with the Terriers is a new initiative run by Huddersfield Town’s Football in the Community department which will help you kick start a healthier lifestyle.
The 12 week programme is aimed at men over the age of 30 who are currently out of condition and want to kick start a healthier lifestyle.
Stephen Render (pictured below) joined the initiative in July 2013 and through the programme has lost three stone; his chest size has reduced from 53’ to 44’.

Speaking to htafc.com, Stephen said: “I decided when I turned 40 in July that I needed to get fitter and lose some weight. I was determined to lose three stone before my next birthday so when I saw the Get Fit advert, I thought it was just what I was looking for.
“I have since lost the three stone, gradually and sensibly, with the help of the instructors. The exercises are fun and all the knowledge I have gained has been very informative.
“It is the best thing I ever did and I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.”
He’s part of the latest 12 week programme, which ends on 17 June. The next starts on 24 June and will run every Tuesday (6pm-8pm) at the Zone St Andrews Road, Huddersfield.
The programme includes activity sessions, healthy eating and nutrition advice, motivational talks and team support.
Its goals are to tackle unhealthy habits, avoid the penalties of high sugar, high fat and inactivity and also kick start a healthier lifestyle.
The NHS is heavily involved in the programme and has provided funding to help get it off the ground. Places are free to applicants, but they are limited!
