TOWN’S TEAM vs. BARNSLEY

1 March 2014

Robins makes three changes

Town Manager Mark Robins has made three changes to his starting XI for today’s Sky Bet Championship game at home to Barnsley; 3pm kick-off at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The first change comes at centre half, where Murray Wallace returns to the starting line-up for his first appearance in five games at the expense of Club Captain Peter Clarke.

The second switch also comes in defence. Like Wallace, Calum Woods comes in for his first start in five games; he replaces Tommy Smith, ending his run of 19 consecutive starts.

Robins’ final change comes in midfield. Jonathan Hogg drops out of the match day 18 today due to a calf strain picked up in last weekend’s game against Sheffield Wednesday, so his place in midfield is taken by the experienced Keith Southern. It’s the former Blackpool man’s first start since the 1-0 win at Bolton Wanderers, 17 games ago.

The Terriers are otherwise unchanged, meaning ‘keeper Alex Smithies keeps his ever-present record this season. It also means Adam Hammill faces his former club today; the Liverpudlian made 84 appearances for the Tykes, scoring 13 goals, between February 2009 and January 2011.
