Half term surprises for youngsters
Several members of the First Team squad surprised kids attending Town’s Soccer Schools during the half-term break.
Last week Town’s Community team held several coaching schools for football-mad 5-14 year-olds at the Zone, located on St. Andrew’s Road – as well as another at Club partners Elland Juniors.
Coaching sessions were operated by fully qualified professional Huddersfield Town Football in the Community coaches. After coaching sessions in the mornings, matches were played in the afternoon, with all courses running between 9am and 5pm.
Several Town players surprised the children and visited the soccer schools during the week. On Monday, weekend goalscorer Keith Southern attended the soccer school at The Zone and the following day Northern Ireland international Martin Paterson paid a visit.
Cristian Lopez attended the soccer school at Elland Juniors on Wednesday, whilst on Friday U21 striker Harry Bunn made an appearance at the Zone.
This gave an opportunity for children to have autographs signed and to have photographs with their favourite Town stars. The players also held question and answer sessions as they gave an insight into their lives as professional footballers.
The next set of soccer schools are taking place during the Easter Half-Term, so make sure you get involved and watch your skills improve. Everyone who takes part will receive a special t-shirt and there will also be prizes for the coaches’ nominated ‘Player of the Day’ and the winner of the penalty shoot-out competition!
Each day is priced at £17.50 if booked in advance or £20 for pay on the day.
