A goal from Under-16 midfielder Regan Booty was enough to give Town a superb away victory at Professional Development League South leaders Queens Park Rangers in London on Saturday morning.
After last weekend's home defeat to Barnsley, this was a superb way to bounce back and Town showed fantastic character to seal the victory against a good Rangers side.
The only goal of the game came during the first-half through a Town corner. Booty took the set piece from the left side; a QPR clearance went flying up in the air and after a combination of Town's Danny Kane, Philip Billing and William Boyle contested the header, the ball dropped to Booty, who had drifted infield. Despite the best efforts of a defender on the line, Booty's 15 yard drive on the angle proved unstoppable.
Town's team (4-4-1-1):
Sam Guthrie; Brad Carroll, William Boyle, Joe Wilkinson (c), Danny Kane; Regan Booty, Philip Billing (Ben Holmes, 85), Ben Atkinson, Kedesh Goddard; Jake Charles; Flo Bojaj
Unused subs:
