Defender dismissed in defeat
Huddersfield Town youngster Danny Kane was on the wrong end of a 2-1 score line when he represented Republic of Ireland on Wednesday afternoon.
The defender was also shown two yellow cards as Ireland U17s lost to Serbia in a UEFA U17 Championship Elite Qualifier.
Ireland levelled in the second half through Robbie Duggan after Ivan Saponjic had put Serbia ahead. However, with Kane off the field, Serbia grabbed a last gasp winner from the spot.
By the final whistle, Ireland had been reduced to nine men when Corey Whelan was showed a straight red card.
