BWF HAT TRICK FOR CLAYTON

5 March 2014

Midfielder wins third Player of the Month award

Huddersfield Town’s Blue and White Foundation members have voted midfielder Adam Clayton as their Player of the Month for February.

The former Manchester City youngster has made it a hat trick of wins with this month’s award; he had previously been chosen Player of the Month for October and December.

The 25 year-old, who took his seasonally goal tally to six with his penalty against Barnsley last weekend, featured in every minute of Town’s matches during February as the Terriers won two and lost three.

In both of Town’s wins he produced match winning goals with long range strikes against Wigan and Birmingham City.

Winner of last month’s award, Paul Dixon, ran Clayton close in the voting as the Promotions Department saw a record amount of votes cast.

Promotions Manager Karen Haigh said: “We were inundated with votes from our BWF members and I would like to thank everyone who took the time to email them in. Well done to John Armstrong who will meet Adam ahead of the Blackburn match.”

BWF member John was picked out at random from those that voted for Clayton and he will now get the chance to meet Adam and present him with a bottle of champagne ahead of the Blackburn game.

John will receive a commemorative photograph of the occasion and a meal for two courtesy of the Grange Pub and Restaurant at Grange Moor.
