Academy scholar plays in Austria draw
Huddersfield Town Academy scholar Danny Kane captained the Republic of Ireland’s Under-17 side in the second-half of a 1-1 friendly draw against Austria in Dublin today.
After playing the entire 90 minutes of a previous friendly win over the visitors on Tuesday evening (click HERE for a review and comments from Academy Manager Mark Lillis), Kane came on for the second-half of today’s friendly at Dublin’s Gannon Park and helped his side come back from a goal down.
The cap was Danny’s sixth at Under-17 level for his country.
The Irish are preparing for the elite qualifying round of the UEFA U17 Championship later this month, which will be played in Serbia.
