Germany’s extra time win earns Carl Barrett £2,014
There weren’t many people in England celebrating Mario Gotze’s World Cup winning goal for Germany on Sunday evening, but Halifax’s Carl Barrett certainly was.
The Bayern Munich player’s goal in the second half of extra time in the Maracana Stadium earned his side World Cup glory, and Carl £2,014!
Carl, who had promised his grandson a bike if he won the top prize, visited Club Ambassador Andy Booth at the John Smith’s Stadium on Tuesday morning to collect his winnings.
Huddersfield Town Promotions Manager Karen Haigh said:
