TOWN’S TEAM vs. QPR

18 January 2014

Wells makes full debut; Vaughan & Lolley on bench

Following his goal-scoring substitute appearance last weekend, record signing Nahki Wells makes his full debut for Town in today’s 3pm Sky Bet Championship kick-off at Queens Park Rangers’ Loftus Road.

The Bermudian international takes the place of Martin Paterson in the team; he misses out today due to the thigh problem that forced him off during the latter stages of last Saturday’s 1-0 home win over Millwall.

Otherwise Mark Robins has named an unchanged side for his 300th game as a Manager, but his options on the bench are considerably boosted by the addition of fit-again top scorer James Vaughan and midweek signing Joe Lolley.

Town’s side is expected to line up in its usual 3-5-2 formation this afternoon, with the ever-present Alex Smithies captaining the side in goal behind centre halves Murray Wallace, Anthony Gerrard and Tommy Smith.

Paul Dixon will start at left win-back with leading assist maker Adam Hammill on the right, while the Blue & White Foundation’s Player of the Month Adam Clayton is joined by Oliver Norwood and Jonathan Hogg in central midfield.

Danny Ward partners Nahki Wells in attack against the meanest defence in the division, which has only conceded four goals in 12 home league outings this term.
