TOWN’S TEAM vs. BURNLEY

1 January 2014

Unchanged starting XI

Huddersfield Town Manager Mark Robins has kept faith with the same starting XI for today’s Sky Bet Championship game at Burnley.

In fact the Terriers’ match day eighteen is the same, meaning Town look set to continue in their 3-5-2 formation at Turf Moor this afternoon. This would see goalkeeper Alex Smithies captain the side once again behind the central defensive trio of Joel Lynch, Murray Wallace and Tommy Smith. This is the first time Scottish Under-21 international Wallace has started four consecutive games for Town since joining in January 2012.

Paul Dixon and Adam Hammill, who is leading the team’s assist charts with eight, start at left and right wing-back respectively with Adam Clayton, Jonathan Hogg and Burnley-born Oliver Norwood continuing in central midfield.

Up front Danny Ward partners Martin Paterson, with the latter making his first return to Burnley since leaving the Clarets to join the Terriers in the summer. The Northern Ireland international, who has scored in back-to-back games coming into this afternoon’s fixture, netted 37 goals in 152 appearances during a five year spell with today’s opponents.
