STEAD LOANED TO OLDHAM

31 January 2014

Striker leaves on initial 30 day loan

Huddersfield Town striker Jonathan Stead has joined Sky Bet League 1 side Oldham Athletic on an initial emergency 30 day loan.

The 30 year-old has joined the Latics ahead of the transfer window shutting at 11pm, putting pen to paper on the deal this evening.

Stead re-joined Huddersfield Town on a free transfer in the summer after starting his career at ‘The Yorkshire Club’ and has made six starts and eight substitute appearances, netting one goal at home to Leeds United. One of those appearances – as a substitute – has come in 2014.

Oldham, managed by former Bristol City midfielder Lee Johnson, currently sit 16th in Sky Bet League 1 having accumulated 30 points from 28 games.

Huddersfield Town Manager Mark Robins commented:

“Jon is keen to play regular games and this move is ideal for him to go and do that. We have good options available in attack at this moment in time, so this move suits all parties.”
