SONDRE: I LIKE TOWN’S STYLE!

New boy Tronstad on joining HTAFC

Sondre Tronstad is delighted to have signed for Huddersfield Town and is eager to pick up where he left off with the Terriers after his trial in November 2013.

“The Club is brilliant. I think the people in the Club are great; I think the facilities are really good and I think this is good step for me. I look forward to getting started,” Sondre told htafc.com.

“I want to be a better player here and try and get into the First Team. Senior international football for Norway is my dream and I always work to get better each day. At first I want to settle down into a new club and country and then I want to get some minutes with the First Team.”

18 year-old Tronstad is a promising midfielder who can play in attacking or deeper roles as a playmaker.

“My favourite position is attacking midfielder and I like to be in and around the box, but I can also play as a defensive midfielder,” he confirmed.

Sondre has no concerns about the differences between the English game and that of his home nation and after already watching a Town win over high-flying Burnley in November, Tronstad liked what he saw from the Terriers.

“I think it’s a hard league with a lot of tackling, but I like the team’s playing style and I feel that in time I will fit into this team - no problem. I think it’s a better standard here - it’s a higher tempo and the teams have better players.”

Tronstad takes inspiration from fellow countrymen who have made the move to these shores, citing Ole Gunner Solskjaer as an inspiration:

“We’ve had a few Norwegian players succeed in England and it shows what hard work can do. It definitely inspires me and I will always look to learn from people who play in my position as well.”
