MULLIN GOES OUT ON LOAN
24 January 2014
Huddersfield Town’s young forward Paul Mullin has today joined Skrill North side Vauxhall Motors on loan until 22 February.
The 19 year-old, who joined Town’s Academy in the summer of 2012 and signed his first professional contract ahead of this season, will gain First Team experience with Vauxhall Motors, which is based in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.
Mullin has started seven games and made a further five substitute appearances for Town’s unbeaten Under-21 side this season, scoring once. Last season he netted 14 goals for the Under-18s.
Vauxhall Motors are currently 14th in the 22 team Skrill North, which is four divisions beneath the Sky Bet Championship, having accumulated 29 points from 26 games. Managed by Carl Macauley, they host Worcester City at their Rivacre Park ground on Saturday.
Paul will continue to train with Town’s Development Squad, but will also join up with his loan club for its weekly training session.
Huddersfield Town’s Senior Professional Development Coach Steve Eyre commented:
“This move is a good one for everyone concerned.
“Paul will learn different things during his time at Vauxhall Motors. He’ll be playing competitive football against seasoned players, he won’t get much time on the ball and he’ll learn to look after himself.”
